Dear colleagues, Please distribute this letter to colleagues, friends and members of your society/institute/organization:
We would like to encourage you and members/candidates of your society/organization to submit papers for the Frances Tustin Memorial Prize of 2021, consisting of 1000 USD. The paper (submitted by e-mail) should be a previously unpublished, psychoanalytically oriented, clinically focused paper addressing the treatment of autistic defenses, disorders or states in children, adolescents or adults. The submitted paper should be related to, expand and extend Frances Tustin’s thinking. The submitted papers are read and evaluated by the Board of Trustees on the basis of relevance to the work of Frances Tustin, the originality of the material presented and clarity of argument and clinical presentation. The paper should be no more than 6500 words (including references), in the English language, written in double spaced format, 12 points font. Writers whose mother tongue is not English should take care to have the paper they intend to submit be translated or edited at a high level of English. The deadline for submission is April 1st, 2020. The body of the e-mail, to which the paper is attached, shall contain a short abstract and bio of the author, all identifying and contact information and any other communication to the Trust desired by the author. However, each attached paper must be completely cleansed of anything that would identify the author, both in the text and in the references list, this in order to insure fairness in choosing the awardee. Papers should be submitted to shalin@zahav.net.il Authors will be notified by The Trust, in writing, about the outcome of their deliberations during June 2021. The author of the prize winning paper will be invited to present the paper at The Annual Frances Tustin Memorial Lecture at Tel Aviv University, on November 5th, 2021. The FTM Lecture is an all-day conference co-sponsored by the Frances Tustin Memorial Trust along with The Program of Psychotherapy, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. During this day the awardee may present an additional lecture or clinical material and discussants will relate to his presentations. Details about submission of papers can be also found on our website: http://www.frances-tustin-autism.org
We would also like to encourage you as individuals/couples/institutions to obtain a Lifetime Membership of the FTMT by a one-time donation of $250. This membership will keep you posted about the trust’s activities as well as enable you to receive a discount when registering for activities organized by the trust.
